No Man’s Sea

No man's sea is a goofy, pirate-themed server trying to differentiate itself from other chat rooms. for one, we promote a respectful community while maintaining a laid-back approach to rules. why? discord is mainly used by people in their late teens and early twenties, and our goal is to create a low-stress environment for them. our mods promote justice through a clear strike system and by encouraging the usage of dms, pings, and tickets. these same methods can be used to provide suggestions on other aspects of no man's sea.

► the crew system: a unique server mechanic in which people can form groups. the intent is for them to face off during game nights, although we're still figuring out how to encourage participation. even so, forming a crew means receiving custom color roles and channels.

► event nights: these are not regular occurrences, but options include game night, doodle night, and movie night. we have a list of several possibilities for game night, most of which are free since piracy isn't encouraged. we've also recently experimented with a concept dubbed "story night," which was suggested by a server member!

► question of the day: a qotd channel hosted by our owner. he tries to come up with original hypotheticals and conversation starters before posting them.

► anonymous confessions: we have multiple bots for entertainment purposes, and one of them allows our members to share anything they'd like without revealing their identity. rule violators are still punished, and this channel can be used to provide feedback that will help our community improve!

► vents and rants: we provide a safe space for our members to get vulnerable. alternatively, they can showcase their passion for a certain topic by talking about it at length.
